Renovation of an educational facility in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

MRL Duct Cleaning Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a Lump Sum Contract are invited from prequalified Prime Contractors for the following work: Provide the labor and equipment to clean the 137,874 square feet of ductwork systems and air handler units located in the MRL Gordon and Virginia Macdonald Medical Research Laboratories Building. All work shall be performed at night. A. Contractor shall clean all HVAC components and verify the cleanliness through inspection and/or testing in accordance with items specified herein and applicable NADCA Standards. B. Contractor shall clean all supply air pathways including the supply fan unit, distribution ducting, risers, turning vanes, laterals to terminal units and diffusers; and clean all return air, exhaust air and transfer air diffusers or grills. C. Prior to any duct cleaning, Contractor shall submit digital photographs of the as-is condition of all ductwork. D. Remove visible surface contaminants and deposits from within the HVAC system in strict accordance with these specifications. E. The HVAC system shall be defined to include all interior surface of the facility's air distribution system, including ductwork containing internal liner as indicated in the contract documents and floor plan drawings. This includes ducts from the points where the air enters the system to the points where the air is discharged from the system. Contractor shall coat all internally lined ductwork with a biocidal growth inhibitor. F. Prior to cleaning any supply air grills and registers, Contractor shall remove after-market installed particular filters and dispose/recycle, remove and re-hang any air deflector sheet metal below supply air grills and registers. G. Contractor shall encapsulate all internally lined ductwork with a water based protective coating to seal all surfaces. Encapsulation shall begin immediately at the air handler, and extend 20'-0" down the ductwork unless otherwise noted by University's Representative. H. Report all missing or degraded insulation and repair or replace as approved by the University's Representative. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: C-20 License (Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating & Air-Conditioning)
