Furnish all equipment, labor, materials and appurtenances required to apply approximately 67,350 S.Y. of chip seal. Aggregate is to be provided by the Owner. There are bids for two asphalt types; MC-3000 and CRS-2P. There are bids for two asphalt types; MC-3000 and CRS-2P. This bid also includes other such work as may be incidental to 2022 CHIP SEAL. GENERAL - Work included in this contract shall conform to the requirements of the 2017 Edition of the Nebraska Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway Construction and the following Detailed Specifications. The Detailed Specifications supersede the Standard Specifications when conflicts exist. PATCHING - Any necessary patching will be performed by the Owner. The Contractor will not be required to perform any patching of the existing street surfacing. CHIP SEAL, APPLIED - This item will include preparing the roadway surface, furnishing and applying the liquid asphalt, loading, transporting, and applying the aggregate, rolling the aggregate, and all incident work necessary to perform the work in compliance with the Standard Specifications and these Detailed Specifications. LIQUID ASPHALT - Section 515 of the NDOT Standard Specifications is amended to include MC-3000 as an option for the liquid asphalt.The liquid asphalt for Bid Schedule A shall be Type MC-3000. The liquid asphalt for Bid Schedule B shall be Emulsified Asphalt Type CRS-2P. The Contractor shall furnish the Owner with documentation of the quantity of liquid asphalt used (Bill of Lading, Scale Tickets, Etc.) to verify the application rate. No measurement or payment will be made for liquid asphalt. This work will be considered subsidiary to Chip Seal, Applied. COMPLETION DATE/LIQUIDATED DAMAGES - The required completion date for all work is September 27, 2022. If all work is not completed by the required completion date, the Contractor will be assessed liquidated damages in the amount of $500 for each calendar day after the completion date.
