All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit by a cashier's or certified check, or Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and furnish satisfactory Performance Bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit or bond shall be forfeited to the Valley Water District. This Contract provides for water system improvements within the Valley Water District's Buttes Site. The completed work will provide the Owner with, a new submersible groundwater well pump (installed on-site inside a newly installed well casing, to be constructed by others); a new piping system, including underground piping to connect to the existing system and a new above-grade well head assembly system: electrical, controls, and telemetry upgrades; site restoration, and other items to improve the Valley Water District's Buttes System domestic potable water system. The Contractor shall provide and install ah water system improvements as shown in the Drawings and described in the Specifications. Bidders should note that following contract execution, contract time may be suspended for the procurement of major mechanical, and electrical equipment items to accommodate anticipated long lead times. Refer to Special Provisions Part 1, Section 1-08.6 for more information. The Contractor shall complete all work within 60 working days.
