Site work and paving for a civil project in Port Royal, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
Construction of sewer improvements including installation of approximately 4,377 feet of 8" PVC, 20 sewer manholes, sewer laterals to ROW, approximately 12,147 square yards asphalt mill and resurface and site restoration. Additionally, abandonment of septic tanks and connections to houses. The Contractor agrees to commence Work under this Contract on the effective date established as "Notice to Proceed", and to complete the Work in conformance with the allotted time described in the Project Manual. Should the Contractor neglect, fail or refuse to complete the Work within the established Completion date then the Contractor shall pay to the Owner Liquidated Damages in the amount of Three hundred ($300.00) per day for those damages suffered by the Owner as a result of delay for each and every calendar day that the Contractor has failed to complete the work within the established Completion date. The aforementioned Liquidated Damages are not a penalty, but rather are a pre-agreed liquidation of the losses incurred by the Owner due to failure of the Contractor to complete the Work on time.
