As of January 4, 2024, this project has been cancelled. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The guardrail at the corner of Martins Ferry Road and North River Road has been damaged. A post that was bolted onto the existing bridge structure has been hit and sheared off. The guardrail that exists now does not meet appropriate standards. There is a construction project currently underway in the area. That purpose of that project is to repair erosion along the bank between Martins Ferry Road and the stream. A portion of the guardrail will be replaced as part of that project, but the area with the sheared off post will not be repaired pending this project. The purpose of this Request for Proposals is to engage the services of a professional engineering firm to provide the services necessary to provide a design of a new guardrail system that will meet the standards set forth by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. Inquiries pertaining to the request for proposal must cite the RFP title and acceptance date and be directed to Bruce A. Thomas, P.E., Town Engineer at 419-4003, or bthomas@hooksett.org. It is the Town's intent that this RFP shall permit competition. It shall be the respondent's responsibility to advise the Town Administrator, Andre L. Garron at agarron@hooksett.org in writing if any language, requirement, specification etc., or any combination thereof, inadvertently restricts or limits the requirements stated in this RFP to a single source. Such notifications must be received not later than ten (10) days prior to the proposal acceptance date. The proposal shall include the Firm's credentials, capabilities, past experience and a listing of projects similar to this project. The proposal shall also include a listing of the employees that will be assigned to key project management roles for the proposed work. Consideration will be given to responses to this Notice without regard to race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, sex, marital status or disability or other handicap. The Town of Hooksett reserves the right to reject all or any part of any or all proposals, to waive technical or legal deficiencies, and to accept any proposal that it deems to be in the best interest of Town. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
