Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Laurentian Valley, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The scope of work for the rehabilitation of County Structure B-022 (Indian River Bridge) involves removal of the asphalt and waterproofing on the bridge as well as removal of the traffic barriers and concrete topping along the north and south edges of the deck. The expansion joints and ballast walls will be completely removed in addition to portions of the wingwalls and the topping at the ends of the deck. These removals will facilitate the conversion of the bridge into a semi-integral configuration. The bridge bearings will be removed and replaced by jacking up the existing box girders. The ends of the bridge will be reconstructed in a semi-integral arrangement. The north and south edges of the deck will be reconstructed and a new concrete parapet wall (with bicycle height railing) will be installed on the bridge deck and over the wingwalls. The approach slabs will be removed and replaced. The bridge deck and new approach slabs will be waterproofed and paved.
