The SPRINGFIELD HOUSING AUTHORITY, (the Owner and Awarding Authority), invites sealed bids from General Contractors for construction of KITCHEN UPGRADES at the Authoritys Egan Drive and Manhattan Street Buildings in Springfield, Massachusetts; in accordance with the documents prepared by Leon Pernice And Associates Inc., AIA, ArchitectsPlanners-Interior Designers, 34 Mt Pleasant Avenue, West Springfield, Massachusetts. The Project consists of interior renovations to 4 congregate dwelling unit kitchens contained in 2 buildings (2 kitchens in each building); each building is located on a separate site. The work is estimated to cost $202,284.00 including three Alternates. General Bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMMCommonwealth of Massachusetts) in the following category of work: GENERAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. General Bidders must include a current DCAMM Prime Contractor Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Prime Contractor Update Statement. Each General Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid deposit that is not less than five percent (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all Alternates) and payable to the Warren Housing Authority General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation benchmark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 0.4% of the final contract price including accepted alternates. Request for waivers must be sent to DHCD (david.mcclave@mass.gov) 5 calendar days prior to the General Bid date if the work is estimated to cost less than $500,000 OR 10 calendar days prior to the General Bid date if the work is estimated to cost $500,000 or more - NO WAIVERS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THE BID DATE.
