The Metropolitan is seeking qualified and experienced consulting firms to perform site inspections and fabrication inspections conducted at various construction sites within Metropolitan's service area and fabrication/manufacturing facilities throughout the United States and overseas. These services include but are not limited to inspection, sampling, and testing of fabricated materials, structural steel, fabricated pipe up to 12 ft. diameter, large diameter valves, pumps, motors, switchgear, transformers, generators, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
Respondent must meet the following minimum qualifications. Respondent's SOQ will be deemed non-responsive to the extent that it does not meet the minimum qualifications.
1. Respondent shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in providing source/fabrication inspection services of equipment and materials for use in the water industry throughout the United States and worldwide.
2. Inspectors must have a minimum of five (5) years "hands-on" experience in the following fields:
small diameter piping of various materials;
large diameter piping (fabricated steel plate, spiral weld, concrete cylinder pipe, etc.);
inspection of rotating equipment typical of that needed for a large regional water supplier;
electrical and power equipment of high and medium voltage;
experience in the testing and start-up equipment used in the potable water industry (regional suppliers).
3. Engineers must possess an engineering degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of ten (10) years experience in the discipline required for the assignments.
4. Engineering Technicians shall have completed a minimum of two (2) years of accredited college work in engineering and have a minimum of 15 years experience in the discipline required for the assignments Or two (2) years of technical training in the related field and a minimum of 15 years experience in the discipline required for the assignments.
