9 th Street and Rustin Street Intersection Water Main Project in Sioux City, Iowa Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor The Notice of Public Hearing will be published in the Sioux City Journal on April 2, 2022 and April 9, 2022. This project has an early start date of May 12, 2022 and a late start date of June 1, 2022. Work shall be completed within 50 Working Days. The Contractor shall be allowed 10 Calendar Days to complete the water main tie in across Rustin Street. During this 10 calendar day period, the Contractor may close off access across Rustin Street. During this period working days will not be charged. Specifications for this project shall be the 2022 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements modified in accordance with the 2022 version of the City of Sioux City Supplement.
