The British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking proposals from qualified Proponents to perform the functions of an Independent Engineer for the general purposes of certifying monthly statement of progress through the construction phase of the Steveston Interchange Project. The Proponent team must be entirely independent of the Province with respect to the Steveston Interchange Project, and without connection or association with Design-Builder and its subcontractors. Contract Term: It is anticipated that the work will commence in May 2022. The term of Contract is anticipated to commence upon its signature by the Contractor and the Province, and is expected to terminate in June 2026, (approximately 60 days after the Total Completion Date, as defined in Appendix A of this RFP). Unless an exception applies as described in Section 2.29 b), as a condition of Contract finalization the successful Proponent will be required to provide the Province with a Tax Verification Letter. Please see Section 2.29 for further details. As set out in Section 2.29, the Province will be unable to finalize a Contract with a Proponent that is unable to produce a Tax Verification Letter as a part of Contract finalization, if required.
