DIRECT QUESTIONS IN WRITING TO: Denise Waldo, Procurement Officer E-mail: denise.waldo@pima.gov Pima County is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) for a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the Canoa Ranch Sewer Extension project (3CRAEX) located in southern Pima County near Green Valley. This project is being developed after a need for a new sewer collector line was identified. The location of the project starts at East Elephant Rd in close proximity to S I-19 and continues north where it will intersect an existing sewer collector line - approximately four (4) miles in length. This will include the underground installation of underground sewer facilities. Design will be completed in one phase while construction will be completed in two phases. Kimley Horn and Associates is the Design Professional for this project. The CMAR will work with and act as an integral part of the design team during the preconstruction phase of the project and is expected to provide constructability review and recommendations. Pima County anticipates completing construction of the project by the fall of 2023. The successful Construction Manager at Risk team will be selected through a qualifications-based selection process, with a negotiated fee for pre-construction services and, if determined by the Department, a negotiated GMP or multiple GMP's for construction This project consists of the installation of a new sewer collector system from the West Elephant Head Road and I-19 intersection north, approximately four miles. The current design is at roughly 30% with the alignment set with only minimal changes expected as design progress. Profile and installation depth are in design and final profile elevations will be determined through the CMAR/Designer collaboration. The construction phasing will be broken into two phases. See Attachment 1 to Appendix "A", Sewer Phasing Map (1 page). The first phase will connect to the exiting RWRD sewer facilities at the northern extents of the project location and continuing south past the future location of the Canoa Ranch Campground development located at approximately 5800 block of South I-19 Frontage Road. The intent in the order of phasing is to provide public sewer system access to the future Canoa Ranch Campground. The second phase of construction will begin at the termination point of Phase 1 and conclude at the current RWRD facilities located near the West Elephant Head and I-19 Frontage Road intersection. Phase two will conclude when the new sewer system is connected to the existing RWRD facilities at that location. Both phases of construction are anticipated to occur almost entirely within the AZ DOT Right of Way, although design developments may adjust the alignment. The project area includes numerous challenging cultural resources that may require archaeological mitigation. At this time, County believes this will be a challenge requiring consideration of culture aspects of the area and likely require site restoration as required by cultural regulators managing the resources in the project work area.
