Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Rangeley, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work shall consist of constructing a Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement using designated mix types for the roadways, sidewalks and parking lots. All work shall be constructed as outlined in this contract and as directed by the Public Services Director (Municipal Representative). The work noted below shall be ready to pave on August 1, 2022. All paving shall be entirely complete on or before October 1, 2022. Project Locations Bald Mountain Road: Mill centerline cracking, remove problematic areas and compact surface to property density, furnish and install 2 compacted inches of approved 19 mm HMA. Crack Seal and Apply tack coat. Furnish and install a 1.5 inch compacted surface course of approved 12.5 mm HMA. Approximate dimensions are 20' X 10,360'. Milling shall be incidental to paving and inclusive in the per-ton price for this road. Hyatt Road (Apron): Provide fine grade and proper compaction. Furnish and install 2 compacted inches of approved 19 mm HMA. Apply tack coat. Furnish and install a 11/2-inch compacted surface course of approved 12.5 mm HMA. Approximate dimensions are Taper from 30-20' X 50'. Bonnie Point Road: Approximate dimensions are 20' X 2,300'. Grind butt joints as required. Apply tack coat(s). Furnish and install an average of 1/2" compacted approved shim mix as necessary. Furnish and install a compacted 1.5 inch surface course of approved 12.5 mm HMA. Approximately 20' X 200' consecutive feet of the overall road will be excavated to investigate underlying issue and will therefor need fine grade and proper compaction provided. Furnish and install 2 compacted inches of approved 19 mm HMA. Sidewalk (Allen St to Rangeley Auto): Provide fine grade and proper compaction. Furnish and install 2 compacted inches of approved 19 mm HMA. (Maybe use 12.5mm ) When bid amounts exceed $250,000.00, the Contractor shall submit to the Municipality a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract within ten (10) days after receipt of notice of acceptance of the Contractor's offer or part of the offer. These bonds shall be issued by a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of Maine. Failure to provide this bond is a material breach of contract and may, in the discretion of the Municipality, result in termination of the Contract. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all proposals whenever such rejection is in their best interest. The Municipality reserves the right to reject the proposal of a Contractor who has previously failed to perform properly or to complete on time Contracts of a similar nature. The Municipality also reserves the right to reject a proposal from a Contractor if an investigation shows that the Contractor is not in a position to perform the Contract.
