Site work for a water / sewer project in Great Falls, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water pump station.
Fairfax County is soliciting pre-bid qualifications for the construction of the Difficult Run Pump Station Grit Mitigation and Odor Control Improvements Project. Project consist of the installation: Upgrades inside the station shall include installation of two new wastewater pumps, associated piping, valves, and variable frequency drives; replacement of ferrous sulfate storage tanks and chemical addition pumps, installation of new chemical injection port; demolition of existing chemical piping; structural repairs; and associated electrical and instrumentation and controls modifications and upgrades. Exterior improvements include modification of the diversion structure; installation of isolation gate; replacement of an existing isolation gate; and associated electrical and instrumentation and controls modifications and upgrades; and associated site work. . The General Contract for this project is anticipated to be advertised for bid in November 2022 with bid opening in December 2022. The projected Contract Award date is planned for March 2023, with an anticipated construction start of April 2023. The overall construction duration is planned to be 400 calendar days. These are estimated dates and durations and are subject to change. The cost for this project is estimated to be between $2 to $3 million.
