Renovation of a mixed-use development in El Cajon, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and transportation facility.

The scope of the Grossmont College Bldgs. 52-54 Liberal Arts - Transit Center will include the reconstruction of the Transit Center at Grossmont College. The existing transit center is out of compliance with ADA building code because the passenger staging areas and accessible paths of travel exceed allowable slope tolerances. The reconstruction of the transit center is required in order to obtain DSA certification for the Buildings 51/55 Liberal Arts project. All bidders in attendance will receive a copy of the pre-bid attendees list by the following day. Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the Contract Documents, the noncollusion affidavit, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the District with a Performance Bond equal to 100% of the successful bid, and a Payment Bond equal to 100% of the successful bid, prior to execution of the Contract. In order to assist the District in meeting its Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises ("DVBE") goal of at least three percent (3%) (as described in Paragraph 28 of 00100), bidders are encouraged (but not required) to seek out and include DVBE subcontractors and suppliers in their bid While not required as part of any participation goals or tracking, the District encourages and welcomes participation in the bidding process by Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), WomenOwned Business Enterprises (WBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), and Small Businesses (SB). The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. SUMMARY A. The Grossmont-Cuyamaca College Community District's project to upgrade campus transit center and nearby pavement to bring these area to ADA compliance. Additionally a curb return is being reshaped to allow for easier bus turning movements. The following provides a brief summary of the Work described in the contract plans and specifications. This summary is a brief description of the Work and the requirements for executing the Work. This information is supplemented by the information contained in the contract plans and specifications and by any regulations, codes, certifications, notices, etc. that may be enforced or required by jurisdictions that have authority over the Work. Work includes furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the project, which includes but is not limited to: 1. Demolition: a. Removal, loading, hauling, placement, temporary salvage and storage, stockpile for reuse, and stockpile for disposal of the following items to a certified landfill facility: asphalt paving, concrete paving, concrete curb and gutter, trees, signs, and other miscellaneous materials necessary to be temporarily, or permanently removed to construct the Project. 2. Earthwork: a. Grading consisting of removing the native ground deposits, to a depth as specified per the plans, Soils Report and Geotechnical Engineer, and recompacting the geotechnically suitable and environmentally cleared material to the pavement subgrade elevation. b. Trenching, Excavation, Backfilling and Compacting for utilities. c. Perform the final grading of the site by placing and compacting the approved materials up to the elevations of the subgrade of the roadway, hardscape, bioretention basin improvements, and the finished grade in the landscaped areas. d. Installation of temporary storm water erosion control devices and BMP's. 3. Utilities: a. Install Sewer and Water connections to provide service to the new drinking fountain. 4. Surface Improvements a. At the transit center: Replace sidewalk and curb as indicated in construction plan. Install all other improvements per the construction plans. b. At the roadway improvement: install new curb return, signage, cross gutters, and all other improvements per Construction Plan. c. Construction and installation of new pavement markings, striping and signage. d. Installation of site improvements as described in the following specifications. 5. Landscape and Irrigation Improvements a. Installation of planting material, including hydroseed, bark mulch, and cobble, and trees. b. Installation of irrigation systems. 6. Obtaining and paying all fees for all required permits, and bonds
