A certified check or bank draft in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, payable to Belmont-Harrison Vocational School District must be submitted with each bid; or a satisfactory bid bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of Ohio in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid. The certified check, bank draft or bid bond shall be forfeited to Belmont-Harrison Vocational School District as a measure of liquidated damages should the bidder fail or refuse to execute the contract within ten (10) days following written notification of acceptance. The bid bond or check of the unsuccessful bidders will be returned when an award is made; that of the successful bidder will be returned when the contract, bonds and insurance requirements are received and approved. After the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids, no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days. Completion time is critical to this project and may be a condition of bid selection. The Belmont-Harrison Vocational School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding. Bids must be marked on the outside of each envelope with all applicable project information. The purpose of the meeting is to familiarize bidders with the requirements and to answer questions regarding the bid documents.
