Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands. Wildfire prevention by thinning and clearing trees. Approximately 4.5 acres. by Epharim, UT. Contractor will provide a crew of experienced sawyers with technical felling ability/skills, chainsaws with the ability to cut up to 12 inches Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) and all necessary equipment for chainsaw maintenance. The contractor must provide a chipper to chip all cut material. Leave trees including pinyon, juniper and small patches of oak are to be thinned to a 30-foot average spacing measured from bole to bole within the designated treatment area. Contractor will provide varying size classes and favor Pinyon trees, with good form and vigor, as leave trees if closer than 30 feet. Branches of leave trees will be limbed up to DBH and all cut material will be chipped. All trees growing directly under power lines will be removed. Stump or base height will not exceed four (4) inches measured on uphill side. No live limbs shall be left on the stumps or bases of cut trees (whips) Trees identified as bearing trees or any trees blazed or tagged to mark the lines of any government survey, shall not be cut or destroyed under penalty of law. All cut material will be chipped and broadcast within the project boundary The purpose of this IFB is to enter into a contract with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder to provide: catastrophic wild fire prevention by thinning and clearing vegetation. Methods include hand cutting crews utilizing chainsaws to remove standing live and dead juniper, pinyon, and oak and chipping all cut material. This task order includes the contractor to furnish labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies and incidentals. Project area totals approximately 4.5 acres. Must be finished by June 1, 2022
