The lowest responsive bidder must have completed, or successfully complete, a Highway Construction, Paving, or project specific prequalification to be considered for the award of this contract. Description: Maine Federal Aid Project Nos. 2491500, WIN 24915.00, 2513900, WIN 25139.00, 2514100, WIN 25141.00, 2577500, WIN 25775.00, & 2577700, WIN 25777.00. Location: In Penobscot County: Project 2491500 is located in on Route 15 in Kenduskeag beginning 0.84 miles north of the Kenduskeag Stream Bridge and extending northwesterly to the intersection with the Southard Avenue. Project 2513900 is located on Route 15 beginning in Bangor 0.10 of a mile north of Route 221 and extending north 4.38 miles to Kenduskeag. Project 2514100 is located in Bangor on Route 15 0.39 of a mile west of Pushaw Road and extending northwest 0.80 of a mile. Project 2577500 is located in Bangor on Route 15 0.07 of a mile north of Husson Avenue and extending north 2.72 miles. Project 2577700 is located on US Route 2A in Old Town 0.11 of a mile north of College Avenue and extending north 0.94 of a mile. Outline of Work: Pavement Milling, Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay, Ultra-Thin Bonded Wearing Course with Drainage and Safety Improvements, and other incidental work. The basis of award will be Section 1 Only. Sections 1 and 2 must be bid. For general information regarding Bidding and Contracting procedures, contact George Macdougall at (207) 624-3410. MDOT@maine.gov, project name and identification number should be in the subject line. Questions received after 12:00 noon of Monday (or if that Monday is a state holiday, Friday) prior to bid date will not be answered. Bidders shall not contact any other Departmental staff for clarification of Contract provisions, and the Department will not be responsible for any interpretations so obtained. Each Bid must be made upon blank forms provided by the Department and must be accompanied by a bid bond at 5% of the bid amount or an official bank check, cashier's check, certified check, certificate of deposit, or United States postal money order in the amount of 5% of the bid amount, payable to Treasurer, State of Maine as a Bid guarantee. A Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price, will be required of the successful Bidder. This Contract is subject to all applicable Federal Laws. This contract is subject to compliance with the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program requirements as set forth by the Maine Department of Transportation. The right is hereby reserved to the MaineDOT to reject any or all bids. MEDOT - Milling, Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay, Ultra-Thin Bonded Wearing Course with Drainage and Safety Improvements - Glenburn, Kenduskeag, Bangor and Old Town - Region 4 We now accept electronic bids for bid packages. Electronic bids do not have to be accompanied by paper bids. Please note: The Department will accept a facsimile of the bid bond; however, the original bid bond must then be received at the MDOT Contract Section within 72 hours of the bid opening. Until further notice, dual bids (one paper, one electronic) will be accepted, with the paper copy taking precedence.
