Site work and environmental remediation for a municipal facility in Hammond, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility; and for environmental remediation for a municipal facility.

This work shall include, but is not limited to, the physical removal and off-site disposal of lead-impacted soil and the replacement of soil and landscaping on at 30 properties in the City of Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. COMPLETION DATE: This work shall be completed by December 31, 2022, with a substantial completion date of November 30, 2022. All Bidders must be properly licensed in the City of Hammond by the time work commences and that said licensing cannot delay a reasonable start date. The City of Hammond reserves the right to rescind any previously awarded bid for failure to obtain proper licensing in a timely manner, which is solely in the City's determination. Contractors may contact the Hammond Building Inspections Department to inquire on General Contractor and Sub-contractors licensing and requirements, at (219) 853-6316 or the Hammond portalInspections Department for applications. Please note that the Hammond Contracting Board only meets once per month, at the first Monday of every month at 6:00 pm Central Time in the Inspection Department Conference Room unless otherwise specified. The deadline for submitting an application and required information for a Hammond License is one week prior to the meeting. For this bid, the recommended deadline to submit an application is March 29, 2022, and then corresponding meeting date is April 4, 2022. No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. The Hammond Board of Public Works & Safety reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Hammond Board of Public Works &Safety further reserves the right to waive informalities and to award the contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the Hammond Board of Public Works & Safety or to reject all bids. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Hammond Board of Public Works & Safety or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. INDIANA REQUIREMENT: Standard Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2009) which includes non-collusion affidavit will be required. Contractors submitting a bid for City construction projects must subscribe to the Indiana Plan and a joint apprenticeship and training program for that project if their bid is accepted and provide proof of same before any payments are made. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin and each bidder must conform with the anti-discrimination provisions of IC 5-16-6. An Affirmative Action Statement must be submitted at time of bid.
