Site work, new construction and renovation of a medical facility in Barrie, Ontario. Design plans call for the construction of a 730,000-square-foot, nine-story above grade, 200-bed medical facility; for site work for a medical facility; and for the renovation of a medical facility.

Construction of a 9-storey T-shaped inpatient tower on the current Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre campus in size which will double the size of the existing campus; approx. 730,000 sq ft for approx. 200 additional inpatient beds. North Campus redevelopment will start with maximizing the existing building, including services in clinical services, critical care, maternal/child, cancer care, and mental health. An expansion is also planned for the non-clinical building, called Rotary Place, to free up space for patient care in the main building. The Rotary Place administrative building will be doubled to accommodate more non-clinical services that are currently occupying space in the main building. It will accommodate large operating suites for the more complicated operations that require inpatient stays, as well as more inpatient beds. TIMELINE: Early functional Stage 1.3 planning with the Ministry of Health (MOH) is underway/ongoing. Scope of work, including square footage, is subject to change. Pending approvals from the MOH to proceed, owner will get budget approvals to move into the into design and construction phases. Owner is hopeful approvals may be in place within the next fiscal year. From there, construction is anticipated within 2-3 years.
