The Project consists of replacing the existing fire alarm system, existing intercom and clock/speaker system and existing intrusion alarm system. Scope includes demolition of existing systems after new systems are operational, patching and painting as necessary. Hayward Unified School District ("District") will receive sealed bids to construct the following project: Bid No. 22.213 Fire Alarm/Intercom/Intrusion Alarm Replacement at Park Elementary School To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to have been prequalified by the District. In addition, if the Project has electrical, mechanical, or plumbing components that will be performed by subcontractors performing under the following license classification(s), then each of those subcontractors that intend to bid as a first-tier subcontractor to a general contractor (prime contractor) are required to have been prequalified by the District: C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and/or C-46. Prequalification Questionnaires must be submitted by email to prequal@husd.k12.ca.us by 2:00pm on April 19, 2022. Contractors not prequalified with the District within the last year must submit a Prequalification Questionnaire. There will be a receptacle located outside the main entrance doors to the building for deposit of bids. The receptacle will be monitored to avoid any tampering of bids. The receptacle will be removed at 12pm and no further bids will be taken. The bid must be sent to arrive at a minimum the day before the bid due date for it to be received in time to be considered. Bid must be sealed in an envelope marked as noted in Document 00 21 13 INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS and placed inside the shipping package. The District is not responsible for the timeliness of bids that are not delivered directly to the District as outlined above. The District's Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. FIRE ALARM & PA/CLOCK SYSTEM SCOPE 1.2.1. The new voice EVAC system for the campus shall be manual and automatic addressable, Class B (As indicated on drawings). 1.2.2. The new fire alarm work includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Installation of Raceways and wiring b. Installation of FA initiation devices and signaling devices. c. Installation of voice EVAC FACP, auxiliary equipment and assemblies for a code compliant FA system d. Testing and commissioning of fire alarm system. 1.2.3. Contractor shall coordinate fire alarm work with District and local fire authority. District and local fire authority shall be given 48 hour notice prior to system shut down. Signs shall be posted notifying public and District authorities that the fire alarm system has been decommissioned for the upgrade. 1.2.4. Contractor to provide design build PA/Clock system as indicated . a. Demolition of existing Rauland clock/PA system and associated component/devices. b. Provide new IP clock/PA system. (Design based on Rauland ) c. Existing VOIP classroom phones to be reused. INTRUSION ALARM SYSTEM SCOPE Provide and install new intrusion alarm security system to replace existing system. The new security system work includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Installation of raceways and wiring b. Installation of security devices c. Installation of security panel, auxiliary equipment, and assemblies for a fully functional security system d. Testing and commissioning of security system
