Renovation of a mixed-use development in Reidsville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Work consists of Base Bid No. 1 and No. 2 Removal and disposal of the existing single-ply and shingle roof down to the existing polyisocyanurate and oriented strand board (OSB) roof deck and installation of new mechanically and adhered thermal insulation, adhered 1/2-inch insulation protection layer, and adhered thermoplastic membrane and new shingles. The total roof area is approximately 220 squares. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina conditioned that the surety will, upon demand, forthwith make payment to the obligee upon said Bid Bond if Bidder fails to execute the Contract in accordance with the Bid Bond. Said Bid Bond shall be claimed by Owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful Bidder to execute the Contract within ten (10) days after the Award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price if the total Contract Sum equals or exceeds fifty thousand dollars ($50,000). The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
