Notice of Request for Proposals Town of Chester Chester Meeting House Repairs -- Roof Scope of Work o Remove the existing (1) layer of wood shingles, lowering the debris to the ground for disposal. Roof deck is to be cleaned and prepared to receive a new waterproofing system. o Apply Ice & Water membrane up 3' from eave ends and out 18" from center of all valleys. o Furnish to install new 18" Certigrade Red Cedar Shingles (#1 Grade, Blue Label). Shingles are to be installed at 5" exposure to the weather using 5d ringed shank stainless steel nails. Valley sections are to be open style using 16oz red copper. Installation shall be in strict code accordance with Cedar Shake and Shingle Bureau guidelines. Fabricate and install new copper anti-fungus strips horizontally up the roof approximately every 4'-5'. Ridges are to be capped using 1"x6" cedar boards. Chimneys are to have new 16oz red copper step and base flashing installed; the existing counter flashing it to remain. o Front Porch: Remove the existing rail system, lowering to the ground in order to reinstall at a later date. Furnish and install new 1/2 " polysio insulation board onto the existing roof deck using approved fasteners of appropriate length. Furnish and install new .060 EPDM roofing (color: black) using the fully adhered method of installation outlined by Carlisle Syntec. Custom fabricate and install a new .032 white aluminum drip edge around the perimeter of roof, flashing to the newly applied EPDM. o Work area to be cleaned and all job debris is to be removed from premises.
