Renovation of an educational facility in Morgantown, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

West Virginia University on behalf of its Board of Governors ("BOG") located in Morgantown, West Virginia ("WVU" or "University") is initiating this Request for Bids ("RFB") from qualified, experienced, and licensed Contractors for the facia panel removal on the PRT guideway located around Reynolds Hall. Work to include all labor, material, equipment, and traffic control required for the removal and disposal of ninety-four (94) steel guideway fascia panels. These panels are mounted on elevated sections of guideway and are located along the west side of Beechurst Avenue, on the North and South sides of the new Reynolds Hall Building. Each panel is approximately 15 feet long, 7 feet tall, and made from 3/16-inch-thick steel. Each panel weighs approximately 1000 lbs. The available connection and dimensional details are provided in the drawings. The removal sequence shall be balanced between the east and west sides of each guideway span, and work for each end shall progress towards the Beechurst PRT Station. Spotters and traffic control shall be utilized to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians in roadways, parking lots, and the adjacent rail trail. Parking - Contractor will have parking available but will need to purchase passes for each vehicle from WVU Transportation and Parking Office. Contractors must read and comply with WVU EH&S Contractor Safety Program COMMUNICATIONS - The bid/proposal process is highly controlled. To protect the integrity of the process, any questions or clarifications regarding this Request for Bid/Proposal must be handled through the Department of Procurement, Contracting, & Payment Services. SUBSTANTIAL AND FINAL COMPLETION - The Contractor shall achieve Substantial and Final Completion of the entire Work as calculated or indicated below. The date of issuance of the West Virginia University's Notice to Proceed and/or Contact shall be used to calculate Substantial and Final Completion if contract time stated below is in number of calendar days. Work may commence May 9, 2022. Substantial Completion: June 25, 2022 Final Completion: July 1, 2022 LIQUIDATED DAMAGES - The Contractor shall achieve Substantial and Final Completion of the entire Work as calculated or indicated above. The date of issuance of the West Virginia University's Notice to Proceed or Executed Agreement shall be used to calculate Substantial and Final Completion of contract time stated in number of consecutive calendar days or established date. Time is of the essence. Liquidated Damages will be Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per Calendar Day of delay in achieving Substantial Completion.
