Renovation of a municipal facility in Grover Beach, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The work will include exterior paint of City Hall, as well as the Police and Fire Stations. Inquiries shall be submitted in writing via e-mail to the City of Grover Beach, Public Works Department, at: PublicWorks@groverbeach.org. Write City Hall Exterior Paint Project in the email subject line. The cutoff time that the City will accept bidder's inquiries is 5:00 p.m. on the fifth business day prior to the bid opening date. Do not count the bid opening date when counting the days. The City will respond to inquiries via an addendum. Any such inquiries, submitted after the cutoff time of receiving bidder's inquiries, will not be treated as a bid protest. The right is reserved by the City of Grover Beach to reject any or all quotes, to evaluate the quotes submitted, and award the Contract to the lowest responsible quote. The City further reserves the right to waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the quote. The City of Grover Beach is requesting quotes from qualified Contractors to paint the exterior of the Grover Beach City Hall Complex, located at 154 South 8 th Street, Grover Beach. The work will include exterior paint of City Hall, as well as the Police and Fire Stations. Full project description is attached. Power wash: wash the areas indicated in preparation of paint. Chlorine-based solution will be applied to any areas where mildew, algae, and/or moss are growing. 2. Wood surfaces: Remove loose, chipping or peeling by scraping and/or sanding, as needed. Fill areas as needed with appropriate fillers. All bare or exposed wood will receive a coat of primer. 3. Stucco: Fill cracks that are larger than a hairline, remove damaged stucco down to sound surface and prime. Patch / repair all damaged stuck. Patches to match surrounding texture as close as possible. 4. Block: Remove loose, chipping or peeling by scraping and/or sanding, as needed. Fill areas as needed with appropriate fillers. 5. Metal: Sand and clean rusted metal. Prime rusted surfaces prior to paint. 6. Reset nails that are protruding above the plain of the surface. 7. Remove address numbers or anything else deemed necessary prior to paint coating. 8. Any items that cannot be removed, will be protected in place. 9. Landscape material will be moved back from structure to allow for painting of foundation below normal level. Material will be moved back after completion. Material that cannot be moved will be protected in place. 10. Masking paper, visqueen and/or drop clothes will be used to protect areas not being coated, windows, sidewalks, landscaping fixtures and other necessary areas as appropriate for over-spray and drips. 11. Maintain employee and customer access and egress to buildings at all times. Note, City Hall and the Police Departments are closed to the public on Fridays. 12. Apply 2 coats of paint to all surfaces with Sherwin Williams brand paint, or an approved equal, paint color and sheen to be determined. 13. Reinstall all electrical covers, fixtures, address numbers, or any other items that were removed prior to painting. 14. Contractor shall be responsible for removing and disposing all debris, trash and other items not intended for re-use or relocation on this project. 15. All left-over paint will be labeled and transported to the City's Corporation Yard (1150 Farroll Road).
