Renovation of a water / sewer project in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

**Project was awarded to Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. for for $70,437,000.00 including $50,355,000.00 for the Ballona Creek Water Quality Improvements Capital Improvement Project (CIP) J598 and $20,082,000.00 for the Sepulveda Channel Low Flow Treatment Facility CIP J925. Ballona Creek Water Quality Improvement ( LFTF #1 ) (CIP J598, W. O. S33WLFT1) At a City of LA owned decommissioned sewer overflow treatment plant (North Outfall Treatment Facility, NOTF) in Culver City, at the bank of Ballona Creek, which has a drainage area of 55,000 acres. This will divert part of the dry-weather flow from Ballona Creek and treat it with Ozone at NOTF, diverting the rest to the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant (Hyperion) via the North Outfall Sewer (NOS). The treated flow will be discharged back to the creek to improve its beneficial uses. The maximum design flow for the pump station is 29 million gallons per day (MGD) or 45 cubic feet per second (cfs). The treatment design flow for Ozone system is up to 6 MGD (9.3 cfs) and the remaining flow of up to 23 MGD (35.6 cfs) will be diverted to the NOS &Hyperion. Components include flow diversion system; influent channel; dry/wet well; pump station; ozone treatment system; tie-in structure to the NOS; and associated electrical, instrumentation & control systems. Sepulveda Channel Low Flow Treatment Facility (LFTF #2) (CIP J925, W. O. S33WLFT2) Along Sepulveda Channel, near Culver Blvd, with a drainage area of approximately 15,000 acres. This will divert the flow from Sepulveda Channel, treat the captured water, and return the treated water back into the channel. Components include flow diversion structure; pump station; trash and silt screens; Ozone treatment system; & associated electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. The treated flow will be discharged back into Sepulveda Channel. The design flow of the project is 1.3 MGD (3 cfs).
