The work includes the production of 330 welds along three segments of SEPTA's trolley diversion routes. Contractor will only be paid for completed welds that pass the magnetic particle inspection test. Welding will be performed on new 39' long 115RE rail. All welding must utilize the electric flash butt welding method. SEPTA estimate is this work will be completed in two weeks, working weekdays between the hours of 7am and 3pm. If inclement weather does not permit welding during the scheduled work week, all unfinished work will shift to following week at no cost to SEPTA. 1.) Week 1 (5/30/2022-6/3/2022) Monday to Friday 7am-3pm 1a.) 40 St (between Filbert & Spruce) Approx. 84 Welds SEPTA anticipates work to be completed in 3 workdays (5/30-6/1). Contractor may be required to move equipment once (approximate distance: 1 to 2 city blocks). 1b.) Spruce St (between 40th & 42nd) Approx. 86 Welds SEPTA anticipates work to be completed in 2 workdays (6/2-6/3). 2.) Week 2 (6/6/2022-6/10/2022) Monday to Friday 7am-3pm 2a.) 42 St (between Spruce & Woodland) Approx. 160 Welds SEPTA anticipates work to be completed in 5 workdays (6/6-6/10). Contractor may be required to move equipment twice (approximate distance: 1 to 2 city blocks). The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
