The Cliffside Park Board of Education of Cliffside Park, New Jersey, hereby advertises for competitive bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-21(a,b) for the following contracts: Contract #41 Partial Roof Replacement at School #6 (Phase 2) All technical questions, comments, and inquiries should be directed to LAN (Attention: Mr. Christopher S. A Bidder's failure to attend the Pre-Bid Conference is at its own risk. The last day for submission of questions shall be on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. (noon). All Addenda will be issued no later than Thursday, April 14, 2022. All bidders must use and complete all bid forms and must comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. Proposed forms of contract documents, including plans and specifications can be reviewed at the office of the Owner. Bidders needs not be present at the time of the opening of bids. If a bid exceeds Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000), the Bidder and its prime subcontractors must be prequalified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (NJDPMC), New Jersey School Development Authority (NJSDA), as required by law, and possess a valid and current Notice of Classification prior to the time and date that bids are received. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-27 et seq, in order to be eligible to submit a Bid for a Project, the Bidder and/or its subcontractor shall be classified by NJDPMC and NJSDA in at least one of the following disciplines as listed with the associated Project: Cont. #41 & Cont. #42: C008 General Construction; or C009 General Construction/alterations & Additions; or C068 Roofing Membrande Modified Bitumen Cont. #42a: C008 General Construction; or C009 General Construction/alterations & Additions; or C019 Concrete/foundation/footings/masonry Work; and/or C054 Site Work Bids must be made upon the proposal forms in the manner designated, enclosed in a sealed envelope with name and address of bidder and work bid upon noted on the outside, and must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the Board of Education for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000, and must be delivered to the Secretary of the Board of Education or the Board's designated representative at the above place on or before the hour named above. The Board of Education and Architect/Engineer assume no responsibility for bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive informality in the bidding if it is in the best interest of the Board of Education to do so. Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 17:27-3.5 (a-1) after notification of award, but prior to signing a construction contract, the contractor shall submit to the public agency compliance officer and the Division an initial project workforce report (Form AA201) provided to the public agency by the Division for distribution to and completion by the contractor, in accordance with N.J.A.C. 17:27-7. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et. seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et. seq. All relevant questions should be related to the Division of Contract Compliance/EEO, Department of the Treasury, P.O. 209, Trenton, New Jersey 08625-0209, Telephone #609-292-5473. All bidders are required to comply with the requirements of PL 1999 c. 238, "THE PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION ACT." We also require that you submit a Business Registration Certificate at the time of bidding, or the bid will be rejected. All qualified bidders will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, marital status, affectional or sexual orientation, or sex.
