In a joint effort with Maine Water Company (MWC), work associated with the project will generally consist of two scopes of work: Storm Sewer Separation: separate existing drainage within a combined sewer system via the installation of new storm drain, drain manholes, and catch basins, Water Main Replacement: installation of temporary water service, removal of existing water main and associated water services, and new water main and water services replacement Submit all questions in writing, no later than 5 business days prior to bid acceptance, to the attention of: Craig Chekan @ (207) 571-0636, e-mail: craig.chekan@biddefordmaine.org A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Biddeford or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company in an amount equal to five (5%) of the Total Bid Price (sum of City scope and MWC scope) for the contract shall be submitted with the bid. No bids may be withdrawn within sixty (60) calendar days of the bid opening unless released by the Owner. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish two separate performance bonds and payment bonds for the total of each part of the scope-of-work The project is scheduled to be awarded within 60 days of the bid opening at a bi-weekly City Council Meeting. All temporary water service shall be completed by October 14th , 2022. Substantial completion for all work associated with the project shall be completed by October 28th , 2022. Full completion of all work associated with the project shall be completed by November 11th , 2022. The City of Biddeford & MWC reserve the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, to accept any Bid that it may deem to be in the best interests of the City of Biddeford and MWC, to negotiate the contract Price with any Bidder, and to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the interest of the City of Biddeford & MWC.
