Renovation of a mixed-use development in Indian Trail, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

PART 1-GENERAL: Project consists of replacing windows at Sun Valley Middle School and Wesley Chapel Elementary School. Contract documents are intended to specify basic description of the Work to be provided in the contract. The Contractor is responsible for field verifying all aspects of this project and to comply with all current local, state, and national codes and regulations. This includes, but not limited to, complying with all ADA requirements. In the event of a conflict between the Scope of Work and code regulations, the Contractor shall notify the assigned UCPS Project Coordinator for direction. Project is to be considered Turn-key. Contractor shall provide all equipment, materials, labors, permits, inspections, supervision, travel, etc. as needed for intended purpose of project. PART 2-PRICING New windows shall match existing to provide uniformity. Contractor must use a long lasting commercial grade caulk when installing the windows. Equivalent systems may be considered for approval; however, must meet the criteria listed above. Proposed systems shall include a Differential Summary from that of the current window system. Refer to Communications (Page 2 of IFB) for submittal instructions. Price is to be provided for Replacing Windows identified on the Floor Plan (Exhibit 2). Alternate 1 is to replace blinds with new to match existing. PART 3-WARRANTY Windows and Blinds: Responsible Contractor shall assume full responsibility for 2 year the satisfactory performance of the total window installation. This includes the glass, glazing, anchorage, setting system, sealing, flashing, etc. as it relates to air, water, and structural adequacy as called for in the specifications and approved shop drawings. Windows shall have a minimum of 10 year manufacturer warranty. Finish shall have a minimum of 5 year warranty. PART 4-SAFETY Contractor is responsible to ensure safety and security of the project areas throughout the duration of project. Buildings are to be secure prior to Contractor leaving jobsite. Signage and Barricades shall be used to direct traffic away from areas currently under renovation. Representatives of Contractor shall dress appropriately for a school environment and perform work in a professional manner. Compliance of this requirement will be at the sole discretion of UCPS. Failure to meet this requirement will cause the individual(s) to be removed off UCPS property. Contractor shall have a safety guidelines in place and perform work in agreement with OSHA standards. Representatives of Contractor shall sign in front office of each site upon arrival and sign out prior to departure. Construction must be coordinated with the assigned UCPS Project Manager. May 17, 2022 - PO released to Contractor (contact Procurement Lead if not received). June 13, 2022 - Contractor may commence work onsite (provided windows are available) August 5, 2022 - Substantial Completion August 12, 2022 - Final Completion All questions and product substitution requests relating to this project shall be directed to the Procurement Lead identified above in the form of an email no later than 1:00 p.m., April 19, 2022. Answers will be provided to all bidders. UCPS reserves the right to award this project in a method considered to be most advantageous. This includes the right to issue single award, multiple awards, or reject all bids. UCPS is not required to award a contract. UCPS reserves the right to waive any informality in bids. If a bidder wants to protest a contract awarded by the Union County Public Schools resulting from this solicitation, then they must submit a written request to the UCPS Purchasing and Contract Division, 201 Venus Street, Monroe NC 28112. This request must be received in the Division of Purchase and Contract within five (5) consecutive calendar days from the date of the contract award. Protest letters must contain specific reasons and any supporting documentation for the protest. Note: Contract award notices are sent only to those actually awarded contracts, and not to every person or firm responding to this solicitation.
