The District of Summerland is one of only five municipalities in BC that owns and operates its Electrical Utility. Summerland purchases electrical energy from the transmission system wholesaler and sells that energy to residents through the Electrical Utility's distribution system. The power system utilizes a system voltage level of 8kV which will be upgraded to 25kV over time. Respondents are required to include within their Submission "Supplier Transformer Design and Accessories" for each inventory item bid. This supplementary information is to provide the complete details of the transformer design and accessories for each inventory item. Refer to Appendix D -Transformer Design and Accessories and to RFQ Section 4.1 Stage I - Compliance Review. To encourage energy efficiencies and innovation the District is requesting the Total Cost of Ownership, in addition to the Respondent's price, for each inventory item. Refer also to RFQ Section 4.2 Stage II - Evaluation and Appendix B - Submission Form. Term of Engagement: The successful Respondent should be prepared to commence work immediately after the Agreement is awarded. The Agreement shall be valid until all transformers have been delivered. Optional Additional Purchases: For a two (2) year period commencing upon the RFQ Closing Date, the District, may in its sole discretion, purchase additional transformers per inventory item at the same specifications from the successful Respondent awarded the inventory item but is not obliged to do so and may purchase transformers via other means. Further details can be found within the RFQ. Conditions for Participation and Requirements to Request to Participate: A Supplier shall provide the following to the District upon acceptance of a purchase order: Commercial General Liability Insurance coverage in the amount of $5,000,000 with coverage for products and completed operations, naming the District of Summerland as an additional insured. All-Risk Property Insurance with coverage for equipment, including work (products) in progress prior to delivery. Procurement Method: Request for Quotations. The District reserves the right to negotiate. The District may request a Best and Final Offer (BAFO).
