Installation of Encased Duct Banks 1) Install two parallel electrical concrete encased duct and vaults systems along 2nd Ave SW as shown in the plan set. The electrical duct systems are each primarily composed of six 5 inch conduits encased in concrete. 2) Install a thermal backfill on one of the duct systems 3) Install four electrical vaults 4) Install two 1.5" HDPE conduits along a mostly parallel route for the future installation of fiberoptic cable. The conduit system is to be air tight from vault to vault to allow for the installation of the fiber using high pressure and volume air. Each Bid shall include cash, a bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check payable to the City of Rochester, 4000 East River Road NE, Rochester MN 55906, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid price. In the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a Contract within 30 working days after acceptance by the City, said cash, bidders bond, cashier's check, or certified check shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. The bond shall also be on surety's company letterhead and submitted with the proposal. Bids will not be accepted without bid security. Upon award, performance and payment bonds satisfying the requirements of Minnesota statute 574.26 shall be required. Each bond shall cover 100% of the contract price and be issued by a surety having a rating of not less than B+ in the latest edition of A.M. Best's Rating Guide and authorized to do business in Minnesota. Bonds must be in a form acceptable to the City Attorney.
