The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is seeking to engage a firm (Contractor) to design and implement a Pilot project for Automated Work Zone Speed Control (AWZSC) in active road construction work zones on state highways within Connecticut using the Design-Build project delivery method. The project is located within construction work zones for highways and bridges in the State of Connecticut. The Project scope will include, but not be limited to, the design, development, testing, deployment, operation, and maintenance of an automated work zone speed control pilot. This will also include project management, interagency and stakeholder coordination, reporting, maintenance schedules, final design/development, furnishing, testing installing, operating, maintaining all field equipment and back-office systems, oversight of all vendors and subcontractors, required for the implementation of the AWZSC Pilot, and final reporting and recommendations for implementation of a AWZSC program. The qualifications of responding firms will be evaluated through the selection process.
