The stream corridor along the south side of Newgate Drive is generally classified as moderately unstable, with steep slopes and heavy wooded debris. A number of storm sewer outlets have been undercut by excessive erosion over time. The corridor lacks a natural system of riffles and pools and sustains little quality habitat along its length, effectively acting as only a large urban storm sewer.This project would need to follow the upstream portion currently scheduled in FY 2025/2026, and extend the stabilization easterly to NW 86th Street. This project would include a stilling basin at the outlet of a major storm sewer pipe and two riffle/let down structures. This project is included in the city’s fy 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program. As of December 16, 2024, further details regarding construction and completion timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
