Renovation of an educational facility in Springfield, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

A. The scope of work includes all labor, materials, tools, supplies, equipment, facilities, transportation and services necessary for, and incidental to performing all operations in connection with furnishing, delivery, and installation of Planting Soil complete as shown on the drawings and as specified herein. B. The scope of work in this section includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Locate, purchase, deliver and install Imported Planting Soil and soil amendments. 2. Locate, purchase, deliver and install subsurface Drain Lines. 3. Fine grade Planting Soil. 4. Install Compost into Planting Soil. 5. Clean up and disposal of all excess and surplus material. C. Related Specification Section 1. Section 321313 Concrete Paving 2. Section 321540 Crushed Stone Paving 3. Section 329200 Turf and Grasses 4. Section 329300 Plants. Bid Security: Each bid shall be accompanied with a bid security consisting of a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check on a solvent bank for 5% of the base bid amount. Bid security shall be made payable without condition to the Owner. Bid security will be retained by the Owner to whom an award is being considered until either (a) the contract has been executed and bonds have been furnished, (b) the specific time has elapsed so that Bids may be withdrawn, or (c) all Bids have been rejected. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities in bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days subsequent to the specified time for receipt of bids. A bid may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder during a period of sixty (60) days following the time and date designated for the receipt of Bids, and Bidder so agrees in submitting his Bid. A performance bond and payment bond for the full amount of the contract will be required of the successful bidder. If the Contractor refuses, neglects, or fails to complete the Work within the time stated (or Substantial Completion Date) in the Contract, then the Contractor and the Contractor's surety, if any, shall be liable for and shall pay the Owner, not as penalty but as liquidated damages, the sum of Five Hundred ($1,000.00) for each calendar day that the Contractor is in default after the time stipulated in the Contract until the Work is Substantially Complete. The Owner may withhold from payments due the Contractor, such amounts as may be assessed as liquidated damages. Upon Substantial and Final Completion of the Work, the Owner may adjust the Contract Sum by the amount of the assessed liquidated damages. Intended Award Date: Tuesday August 9, 2022 Expected Construction Start Date: September 12, 2022 (to accommodate Bookstore schedule) Substantial Completion Dates: Tuesday December 13, 2022 Final Completion Date: Tuesday January 17, 2023
