The New York State Canal System is a navigable 524-Mile inland waterway that spans upstate New York. The waterway connects the Hudson River with Lake Champlain, Lake Ontario, Cayuga Lake, Seneca Lake and Lake Erie via the Niagara River. The Canal System passes through 25 counties and close to 200 villages. Effective January 1, 2017, jurisdiction over the Canal Corporation was transferred from the New York State Thruway Authority, to the Power Authority of the State of New York (Power Authority) The NYSCC operates and maintains many structures across the state. This scope of work includes the installation of a new manual transfer switch and associated hardware at lockhouse of Lock O-8 located at 2 Canal View Drive, Oswego NY 13126 a. Installation of a new manual transfer switch in accordance with drawings E-000 and E101, and E-102, Revision 3 dated January 11, 2022 from Bergmann Architects, Engineers, Planners, PC. b. The contractor will provide all materials and means necessary to complete the work by the scheduled deadline. c. The contractor will submit a project specific health and safety plan, and work plan per the project documents prior to start of work. d. The contractor shall refer to Construction Permit No 21-45, for requirements and conditions e. Obtain a NYSCC Work Permit prior to starting construction. f. Submit as-build drawings including any revisions to the original signed/sealed drawings g. Coordinate with Bergmann via NYSCC if any discrepancies to the drawings arise during construction. h. Coordinate independent electrical inspection with NYSCC at points referenced in the construction permit.
