The Town of Groveland is soliciting Invitation for Bids (IFB) from experienced, qualified contractors to replace the existing HVAC system and equipment with variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system design at the Town Hall Building located at 183 Main Street, Groveland, Massachusetts. Bid security in the form of a bid bond is required in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid, in accordance with the bid documents. - Existing cooling equipment is to be replaced with new equipment based on existing building conditions and supplied building plans in compliance with the 9th edition of 780 CMR the Massachusetts State Building Code, 2015 International Mechanical Code (as amended) and the 2018 International Energy Code (as amended). - Existing equipment is to be abandoned. Condensers are to be removed and disposed of properly. Existing ductwork can remain in place if it is not a violation of the building code and if it does not create a safety hazard. - New equipment to be ceiling cassette style variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system designed by a registered engineer to Massachusetts State Code and ACCA standards. Submitted drawings are to be endorsed (stamped) by a registered design professional. - Permits and inspections shall be completed in compliance with the State Building Code. Installer and design professionals shall be licensed and insured as required by the State Building Code and Massachusetts General Law. - All equipment and components for installation, materials, labor, engineering, plans, permitting, subcontractor costs (electrical, gas, etc.), and waste removal shall be included in submitted bids. - Start up and calibration of the system shall be completed and witnessed by a registered design professional and a stamped Construction Control Affidavit shall be submitted at the completion of the work.
