Renovation of a municipal facility in Kingston, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Kingston City Hall is a National Historic Site of Canada with municipal heritage designations under both Parts IV and V of the Ontario Heritage Act. The site is in the heart of Kingston's historic downtown and has continuously served as the seat of municipal government and marketplace since it was originally completed in 1844. Due to this unique historical significance, special precautions and procedures may be required to ensure heritage attributes (character-defining elements) are adequately maintained and protected while completing selective demolition and new work. Question Deadline Date: 04/27/2022 03:00:00 PM ET The project will generally include: - Protection of existing elements to remain; - Careful staging of work to minimize impacts to building occupants and the public; - Removal and replacement of existing sprinkler/standpipe elements as well as extension of coverage as indicated on the drawings; - Connection of new devices/switches to the fire alarm system circuits; - Replacement of existing fire alarm system devices and wiring to provide a new two-stage, addressable fire alarm system complete with voice communication (fire alarm panel and annunciator (EST-4) are to remain as they were previously installed in project Phase 1). The term of the agreement will be from the execution the Contract to the end of the two (2) year warranty period. The City anticipates that Phase 2 will be completed within six (6) months from execution of the Contract (subject to the proponent's RFP response as it relates to the project schedule). Phase 3 will be undertaken in 2023, subject to confirmation of available budget. The City anticipates that Phase 3 will be completed within six (6) months from receiving confirmation of available budget and approval to proceed (anticipated Phase 3 commencement in January 2023). Each Proponent must provide information for at least three (3) construction projects of similar scope, complexity and minimum construction value of $100,000 each, completed within the last ten (10) years.
