Furnishing of all labor, materials, and all else necessary for the following: 2022 Downtown Reconstruction Project In general and pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, chapter 429, the work consists of the construction of storm sewer, watermain, sanitary sewer, services, and streets and sidewalk construction in a residential area in Downtown Chaska with approximately the following quantities: o 13,800 SY of Bituminous Removal o 2.500 LF of 15", 18'', 21'', and 24'' RCP Storm Sewer Pipe o 35 EA of Storm Sewer Structures o 2.900 LF of 8'' to 10'' PVC Sanitary Sewer Pipe o 18 EA of Sanitary Sewer Manholes o 3.100 LF of 6'' to 12'' PVC Watermain Pipe o 15,560 SY of Geotextile Fabric o 6,300 LF of 4'' Drain Tile o 14,000 CY of Common Excavation o 7,100 TN of Aggregate Base o 11,700 CY of Select Granular Borrow o 2,800 TN of Bituminous Course Mixture o 5,600 LF of Concrete Curb and Gutter o 15,000 SF of Concrete Walk Along with miscellaneous utility improvements, removals, restoration signing, striping, clearing and grubbing, and correlated appurtenances. The successful bidder must be a "responsible contractor." The term "responsible contractor" means a contractor as defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 16C.285, subdivision Any prime contractor, subcontractor, or motor carrier that does not meet the minimum criteria or fails to comply with the verification requirements is not a responsible contractor and is not eligible to be awarded a construction contract for the project or to perform work on the project. A prime contractor, subcontractor, or motor carrier that makes a false statement under oath verifying compliance with the minimum criteria will be ineligible to be awarded a construction contract on the project, and the submission of a false statement may result in termination of a contract awarded to a prime contractor, subcontractor, or motor carrier that submits the false statement. A prime contractor shall include in its verification of compliance a list of all of its first-tier subcontractors that it intends to retain for work on the project. Before execution of a construction contract, a prime contractor shall submit a supplemental verification under oath confirming that all subcontractors and motor carriers that the prime contractor intends to use to perform project work have verified to the prime contractor, through a signed statement under oath by an owner or officer, that they meet the minimum criteria for a responsible contractor. 1. Project Description This Geotechnical Evaluation Report addresses the proposed design and construction of the 2022 Downtown Street Improvements, located on 6th Street, Maple Street, and Yellow Brick Road in Chaska, Minnesota. The project will include utility replacement and roadway reconstruction. A.2. Site Conditions and History Currently, the project area encompasses E 6th Street from just west of Oak to Beech Street, Oak Street from 6th Street to 5th Street, Maple Street from 6th Street to Beech Street, and Yellow Brick Road from County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 61 to 100 feet east of Walnut Place. The area surrounding Maple Street and 6th Street contains of mostly single-family residential structures, with the area north of CSAH 61 consisting of commercial properties. Current grades at our boring locations range from about 719 1/2 feet at Boring ST-3 to 730 feet at Boring ST-5. Generally, the site is downward sloping, from north to south towards the Minnesota River. A.3. Purpose The purpose of our geotechnical evaluation is to characterize subsurface geologic conditions at selected exploration locations, evaluate their impact on the project, and provide geotechnical recommendations for utility improvements, roadway design, and reconstruction.
