As of March 10 2026 this is still in construction _________________________________________________________________________________ Plans call to design a multi-generational recreational facility on a still to be determined portion of a 29-acre site located at the northeast corner of Pecan St. and FM 685. The selected firm will base facility design off of community engagement, staff input and, a needs assessment study performed in 2019. The selected firm will also create a proforma and program of the facility during the design process. The selected firm will also provide planning and design for the renovation of the current recreation center located on Immanuel Road. An Owners Representative has been selected and a Delivery Options Analysis is currently being performed. It is not yet known which delivery method will be utilized to implement this project however, it is preferred that respondents demonstrate experience in various types of Alternative Delivery methods including but not limited to, Design-Build, Progressive-Design Build, Design-Build-Finance, and Construction Manager at Risk. As of January 4, 2024, the design firm has been selected. A construction document completion timeline has not been released. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been disclosed. A tentative bid schedule for contractors is scheduled for fourth quarter 2024. The construction timeline is scheduled for late 2024.
