Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Meriden, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; for paving for a transportation facility; and water / sewer project.

The City of Meriden seeks the services of a contractor for the rehabilitation of the North Apron at the Meriden-Markham Municipal Airport. Work items include but are not limited to; 8,000 SY of milling; 2,000 Tons of new asphalt pavement: pavement markings, new aircraft tie down anchors; topsoil, seeding and cleaning of existing drainage structures. Any State and/or local mandated COVID-19 requirements including proper PPE, will be required during the pre-bid conference. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid, and to waive informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Meriden. No bidder may withdraw their bid within one hundred and twenty (120) days of the date of the bid opening. Should there be reason why the contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement between the City of Meriden and the bidder. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid. A Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance bond for One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price, with a corporate surety approved by the City of Meriden, will be required of the lowest responsible bidder. The attention of bidders is directed to the requirement for minimum wage rates to be paid under this contract. The work performed under this contract shall be governed by the Federal Contract Provisions set forth in the Contract Documents, which include, but are not restricted to, Equal Employment Opportunity requirements, and compliance with Federal Wage and Hour requirement"s (Davis-Bacon Act). All requirements of the State of Connecticut and all administrative regulations shall apply to this project as if herein written out in full. This contract is subject to Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation provisions requiring that not less than 2.82% of the Contract be performed by a disadvantaged owned and controlled business enterprise contractor(s). Strict compliance with the pertinent procedures will be required for a bidder to be deemed responsive and eligible. The City of Meriden is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
