Addition of a new modified collection site located in the Forge Road area of the County. A modified collection site will offer solid waste collection services and exclude recycling containers. Staff will visit the site on a planned schedule to cycle through the compactor. This potential plan would allow the County to proceed with implementing additional modified collection centers which offer reduced or restricted services to serve areas that are more than 5 miles from an existing or newly established staffed collection centers. Project cost estimates include engineering services, land procurement, compactor procurement, site work, storm water, erosion & soil controls, concrete retaining wall, concrete slab, fence,electrical, lighting, security to include internet service and signage. The project aligns with the Board's concurrence, in whole or in part, with recommendations from SCS Engineering which developed a Solid Waste Management Study and Strategic Plan for the County. This project is in included in the Rockbridge County FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
