The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informality in the bidding process in accordance with the law, if it is in the best interest of the Owner, as permitted by law. The Contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements. No bid shall be deemed accepted until the adoption of a formal resolution by the Owner. All bidders must use and complete all bid forms provided in the manner designated and must comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. Bids shall be marked in a sealed envelope with the name of the project plainly marked on the front of the envelope and accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond in the amount of Ten Percent 10% of the bid, made out to Lawrence Township Board of Education as payee or obligee, but not in excess of $20,000. In addition, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25, each bid must be accompanied by a certificate from a surety company stating it will provide said bidder with bonds in such sums as required by the statute and the Bidding Documents. A. Provide all plant, labor, materials, accessories, equipment and incidentals required to complete Painting and Coating work, including but not necessarily limited to, the following: 1. Surface preparation, priming and finish painting and coating of surfaces, except as otherwise specified. 2. Multiple colors, patterns, borders, fields and designs as indicated and/or selected by the Architect. 3. Finish painting and coating primed surfaces, except as otherwise indicated. 4. Exposed to view structural steel, joists, decking, lintels, covered and bare pipes and ducts (including color coding), hangers and the like along with primed metal surfaces of mechanical and electrical equipment, unless otherwise indicated, are to be painted and are included in the work of this section. 5. Do not paint prefinished items, conceal surfaces, finished metal surfaces, operating parts and labels. 6. Where touch-up painting and coating work is required, re-finish the entire surface plane. 7. All other surfaces, not specifically noted, that require painting or coatings. B. Paint or coat exposed surfaces, except where the finish schedule indicates that a surface or material is not to be painted, coated or is to remain natural. If the schedules do not specifically mention an item or a surface, paint or coat the item or surface the same as similar adjacent materials or surfaces whether or not schedules indicate colors. If the schedules do not indicate color or finish, the Architect will select from standard colors and finishes available.
