As of 4/28/2022, project has been canceled but it will be rebid in the future. The Town of Cheraw is seeking a qualified contractor to install a new TPO roof at 159 Market Street in Downtown Cheraw, SC 29520. The roof at 159 Market Street has reached the end of its service life and will need to be replaced. Each of the following must be acknowledged in a complete bid packet: a. The general contractor must acknowledge that they will obtain a Town of Cheraw business license if awarded and that the work will be completed under a building permit issued by the Town of Cheraw. b. The general contractor must have the appropriate license from SC LLR and include a copy of it with the bid. c. If the contractor will use subcontractors, any subcontractors must also obtain a Town of Cheraw business license and have the appropriate license from SC LLR. d. The general contractor must provide proper insurance information with at least five hundred thousand ($500,000) of coverage including workers compensation and at on million dollars ($1,000,000) of liability coverage. Proof of coverage must be included with the bid. e. Complete attached bid sheet. The following work is to be bid on 1. Remove existing TPO Roof 2. Install new white- 45-mil TPO Roof per manufacturers specifications. A copy of manufacturers specifications and installation instructions must be included with the bid. 3. Contractor is responsible for the disposal of all debris. Other Information: - 159 Market Street is approximately 11,000 square feet and includes a first-floor roof and a second floor roof. - Bid is for roof replacement only - that is the removal and replacement of an existing TPO Membrane with a white 45-mil TPO Membrane. - Damage that may appear after removal of roof will be quoted separately and approved prior to commencing - this includes possible damage to roof structure, insulation, or any other component that is in an unknown condition under the existing roof membrane. - Contractor is not permitted to access the roof at 159 Market Street via traveling on adjacent roofs. - Town of Cheraw is responsible for obtaining permits from the Board of Architectural Review for the historic district This invitation to bid does not commit the Town of Cheraw to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of bids submitted, or to procure or contract for services. The Town of Cheraw reserves the right to accept or reject any, all or any part of a bid or to cancel the project in its entirety if it is in the best interest of the Town of Cheraw. Failure to include any required material in your bid package will void the bid. A low bid does not release the bidder from other requirements outlined in this invitation to bid and the Town of Cheraw will verify all requirements are met prior to awarding the bid. This solicitation is being made under the Procurement Policies of the Town of Cheraw which allows for appeals of a bid result.
