Site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Montreal, Quebec. Design plans call for the renovation of a 158,185-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and for the addition of a 59,600-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.
Expansion and major upgrades, repairs and improvements to the Sophie-Barat high school main structure that is the owner's oldest heritage building of over 100 years old. The scope of the project will includes construction of an addition to house 200 to 250 new students at the school that has already some 1,400 students enrolled, major interior and exterior upgrades of the building and repairs of all its systems. The scope of the construction program includes: - West Wing built in 1964 - renovation; - Enclosure wall and Sainte-Sophie Day School (remains) built in 1929 - reconstruction; - Main building constructed between 1938-1939 - renovation; - East Wing - Block A built in 1930 - renovation; - Boiler room built in 1912 - renovation; The sports complex is excluded from the scope of work. TIMELINE: Working drawings are ongoing and are being prepared by construction packages. The project is included in the major project list of the Quebec Treasury Bord Secretariat under the number 654. Due to the major scope and complexity of the project its development is delayed. According to the owner's scheduling working drawings will be completed in 2026, a tender for the general constructor will follow. Construction implementation may be phased and is expected to be completed in fall 2030.
