Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Caroline, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Work at this site includes the removal and disposal of the existing 3-8.5 m type "PGO" prestressed concrete girder bridge on a treated timber substructure and the construction of a new prestressed concrete girder bridge. The new structure will be a three span, 6-10-6 m SLW-510 prestressed concrete girder bridge on a steel H-pile substructure. The crossing is located on a local road, 1 km South of Caroline. A location plan has been included in the Plans section of this document for the Contractor's convenience. Without limiting the provisions of these Specifications and Contract, the Scope of Work at this site shall include the following: Traffic accommodation for bridge construction Demolition and disposal of bridge structure Headslope preparation and backfill Set-up, supply and driving of steel H-piling (plain and galvanized) Abutment, pier and wingwall construction Supply, delivery, and erection of precast concrete units (6 m and 10 m SLW-510) Waterproofing Bridgerail - supply and install Guardrail - supply and install Approach slabs Heavy rock riprap - Class 1 Roadway work Supply and install erosion control barrier (silt fence)
