**As of June 14, 2022. The Project has been awarded to Appling Boring Co. for the awarded amount of $776,446.20.** All work shall be done in accordance with the Plans and Specifications dated March 2022. The work shall consist of installing approximately 15,870 feet of 2" PE main, installing approximately 8,270 feet of 3/4" and 1" PE services which will include replacing 101 steel services with 3/4" PE services and tying 91 existing PE services into new PE main, and abandoning in place existing steel main and services. One-half (1/2) the amount of the deposit for all sets of complete documents, including Plans and Specifications, returned in good condition within fifteen (15) days after the opening of bids will be refunded to all prospective bidders who do not submit a formal proposal. Each proposal must be accompanied by a deposit equal to five (5%) percent of the net price bid. This deposit may consist of cash or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do business in the State of North Carolina or on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, payable to the City of Shelby, North Carolina, or a five (5%) percent Bid Bond issued by any insurance company authorized to do business in the State of North Carolina. The deposit is to be retained in the event of failure of the Successful Bidder to execute the contract within (10) days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required. All contractors are hereby notified that they shall properly comply with any North Carolina state laws governing their respective trades. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals.
