Renovation of an educational facility in Penticton, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The HVAC upgrades for KVR Middle School were split into three phases of construction for funding purposes. Each Phase is considered an independent project that will be tendered separately. This following provides a description of each phase for information. Phase 1 is the only phase in this contract. Phase 1 .1 The existing boiler plant is to be removed and replaced with new high efficiency condensing high mass boilers which were pre-purchased by School district 67. The boilers are configured in a draw through configuration with isolation control valves. .2 Air handling unit heating coils to be removed and piping changed to connect chilled water coils to the heating water system. New coil pumps with variable speed capabilities are provided to facilitate system balancing and optimization. .3 The existing heat exchanger between the heating water system and the distributed heat pump loop (HVAC Loop) will be removed to simplify hydronic systems and optimize pumping power. Distributed heat pump loop pumps to be reconfigured to allow injection of heating water into the loop. .4 Piping changes have been designed to facilitate construction of Phase 2 and 3 Documents can be obtained from https://emergentmechanical.bidsandtenders.ca/
