Site work for a civil project in Kelso, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Work performed under this contract will consist of the following: Providing all materials and labor to remove existing 16-inch pipe, pilings, and a level gauge from the Coweeman levee, install 16-inch Tideflex check valve, and construct rip rap bank at the Elks Pump Station site; construct temporary cofferdams, dewater the working area, and clean out and abandon-in-place existing 48-inch pipe with grout, demolish and abandon-in-place existing concrete vault, including slide gate, and blast and recoat existing above-grade 30-inch discharge pipe at the Baker Way Pump Station site; and remove and waste haul existing 18-inch pipe at the Dike Road Outfall; site restoration, and all other work as specified herein and as shown on the drawings. All Bids must be submitted on the regular bid form furnished within the specifications, and each must be accompanied by a certified check or bidder s bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the work, as prescribed in the bidding documents. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory payment and performance bonds within the time stated in specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited. To perform public work, the successful Bidder and Subcontractors, shall hold or obtain such licenses and registrations as required by Washington State Statutes and Codes, and federal and local Laws and Regulations. All work performed on this project shall be subject to the Washington State Prevailing Wage Rates. The Standard Specification Section 1-07.1 assigns the responsibility for the health and safety of all workers to the Contractor. As construction activities continue during this pandemic, specialized plans and protocols need to be in place to maintain safe and healthful worksites. SAFETY PLANNING: In addition to existing health, safety, and sanitation regulations, the United States and the State of Washington have instituted additional proclamations and rules surrounding the COVID 19 virus that must be followed. To demonstrate compliance with applicable requirements, the Contractor shall provide written correspondence before commencing the project describing project specific safety plan(s) outlining additional procedures and measures that will be put in place to address COVID 19. Because this is a pandemic which is evolving rapidly, when warranted, it is expected that these project-specific safety plan(s) will be updated by the Contractor to reflect the most current rules in effect. Safety planning will result in mutual benefits to the Contractor, its workers and subcontractors, and the Contracting Agency. There may be conditions where COVID-19 safety planning cannot reasonably mitigate project issues or be addressed through other project options, and the Contractor is directed to the project bid documents and Standard Specifications, as incorporated, for guidance.
