The Town of Hanover is seeking proposals from qualified vendors (hereinafter referred to as Proponent) to supply labour, material and equipment necessary for the design, supply and installation of a stage cover for the existing stage in the Heritage Square amphitheatre (the Project). Proposals shall include an aesthetically pleasing stage cover design that will be complementary to Heritage Square and provide coverage over the existing amphitheater stage. The intent is that the stage cover will provide protection from the elements for the entertainers on the stage. Heritage Square is Hanover's key outdoor civic space located at 358 10th Street, Hanover, Ontario. There are many design elements included in Heritage Square that are linked to our community's past, while looking to the future. Design elements include, but are not limited to, the amphitheatre, civic plaza, sunken music garden, celebration knoll, heritage promenade and Knechtel memorial bosque. Heritage Square features Hanover's Labyrinth of Distinction, provincial Heritage plaques, Centennial Celebration Candle and the original Knechtel factory steam whistle and hand carved logo. The 1.5 acre property was originally the site of the Knechtel Furniture Factory, the central company in the Town's development that led to Hanover's illustrious furniture manufacturing industry and its past international recognition as 'The Furniture Capital of Canada.'
