The Village of Saranac is requesting Bids for a Water Distribution System Materials Inventory. The project includes the Work to physically verify the materials of one hundred two (102) water service lines located throughout the Village. Addresses where the Work will be performed will be provided with the final Contract Document The Contractor will perform potholing at a minimum of two (2) locations per service line and at a minimum distance of 18 inches from the curb stop. One pothole shall be excavated on each side of the curb stop to verify the pipe materials. Out of the 102 locations, 5 will require additional potholing and material verification at the corporation stop. A total of 209 excavations and associated material verifications will be completed. To the extent feasible, the potholes should be located within the green belt of each service line. Pavement removal and replacement should be minimized. The anticipated depth of pipe is approximately 6 feet below grade, but may be up to 8 feet. The Contractor should prepare for sandy soils and shallow groundwater in low lying areas A pre-bid conference will not be held.
